Turn that frown upside down!


This is a manta ray, a cousin of the sharks.  Most likely it is actually very happy in the picture. Those two fins on the sides of it mouth are actually used for filter feeding. They help it filter feed by fanning plankton and fish towards it's large mouth. The biggest manta ray recorded had a 25 foot wingspan. Although this may sound big and scary manta rays are not harmful to humans.
